STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island women's soccer team will close out their regular season on the road this weekend, beginning Saturday afternoon with an East Coast Conference contst against No. 16 Mercy University in Dobbs Ferry, NY.
Since joining the Division II ranks, the Dolphins are still in search of their first win over the Mavericks, who hold a 4-0 record in the series. In their 2024 meeting at Dolphins Soccer Park, Mercy earned a 2-0 victory, scoring once in each half.
Mercy is one of two teams in the ECC that remain undefeated in conference play. The Mavericks hold an overall record of 7-1-2 which earn their spot as the No. 16 nationally ranked team in Division II. The Dolphins are fighting for a postseason berth that would mark their first-ever ECC Tournament appearance and they currently sit tied with D'Youville with a 1-3-1 conference record.
This week's ECC Offensive Player of the Week, Caitlyn Thompson, and Rookie of the Week, Annika Jurik, have led the Dolphins offensively this season. Jurik tops the team with eight points on four goals, while Thompson follows with five points on two goals and one assist. Brianna Dore, who recorded 14 saves against Queens (NY) to rank third all-time at CSI for saves in a single game, has tallied 54 saves this season; her highest collegiate save percentage at 81%.For the Mavericks, they feature two players with 24 points on the season, one with 10 goals and four assists, another with eight goals and eight assists.
