STATEN ISLAND, NY - The College of Staten Island Swimming & Diving team hosted a second consecutive Northeast 10 (NE10) meet on Saturday afternoon at The Tank as they faced Saint Michael's College.

The CSI men dropped their meet by a score of 156.00-132.00.  In another closely contested meet, the Dolphins fell 156.00–123.00 on the women's side.

The meet began with a pair of CSI victories in the 200-yard medley relay, but the Purple Knights responded with wins in both the men's and women's 100-yard freestyle.  Maria Janecka then earned first-place points for the Dolphins in the 200-yard freestyle (2:00.81) and Vlad Siniagovskii posted the next first-place time for the men in the 100-yard backstroke (55.04).  Polly Struck immediately followed that by taking first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:12.13), and William Kwan took first place in the 200-yard butterfly (2:05.53).  In the final event before the meet's first break, both Siniagovskii and Janecka placed first in the 50-yard freestyle with times of 22.77 and 25.09 respectively.

Women's 1-meter diving saw St. Michael's claim first and second place points while the men's 1-meter event saw Yubal Parra post a first-place score of 368.20.   Later in the meet, Parra also earned first in 3-meter diving with a score of 320.25.

Following a brief break at the conclusion of diving, Janecka earned yet another first-place finish with a time of 55:01 in the 100-yard freestyle.  Maja Tomaszewska posted a first-place time of 2:18.40 in the 200-yard backstroke, and Siniagovskii took first in the same event with a time of 2:03.90.  Struck (2:35.60) and Kwan (2:17.72) swept the 200-yard backstroke for the Dolphins, the last CSI victories until the 200-yard IM.  In that event, Struck placed first one again with a time of 2:19.70, the final first-place time for the Dolphins in the meet.

Both Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving will return to the Tank next Saturday, Nov. 1, for another NE10 meet against Pace University at 1:00 PM.
