STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island women's basketball team returns to The Tank on Tuesday evening to host No. 23 Bentley University in a non-conference matchup. The Dolphins will also recognize their annual "Go 4 The Goal" initiative in support of the fight against pediatric cancer, with both teams wearing gold laces throughout the contest.
CSI enters the night at 2-2, earning an opening-night win over Franklin Pierce and their first road victory of the season at Goldey-Beacom. Bentley stands at 2-1, riding back-to-back wins over Georgian Court and Southern New Hampshire, holding both opponents to 50 points. The teams met for the first time in January 2024, a game in which CSI stayed within striking distance before Bentley pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Dolphins 15-8 to clinch a 67-58 win. Then-sophomore Kyra Rose led CSI with 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting and added seven rebounds.
Transfer Racky Kane has been the driving force for the Dolphins' offense to start the year, averaging 12.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Fellow newcomer Shonaye Edmonds follows closely at 11.3 points per game, shooting a team-best 53% (20-38) from the field. Freshman Arielle Barnes anchors the team on the glass with 8.0 rebounds per game while contributing 10 assists and eight steals. Bentley enters with one double-figure scorer and four additional players averaging 8.0 points or more through their first three games, showcasing a balanced and efficient offense.
