STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island men's basketball team hits the road on Saturday afternoon as they travel to Washington, D.C. to take on the University of the District of Columbia in an East Coast Conference (ECC) matchup. The Dolphins enter the contest riding a four-game winning streak against the Firebirds, having swept the regular-season series in each of the past two years, and look to extend that streak to five.

In last season's first meeting in Washington, D.C., CSI earned an 84–78 victory after carrying a 49–41 halftime lead. Returners Asa Kone and Aaron Goldstein were among the top performers, with Kone posting 13 points and nine rebounds and Goldstein adding 11 points and six assists. The rematch in the Tank featured a low-scoring first half, with UDC leading 29–26 at the break, but the Dolphins surged in the second half, shooting 59% (19–32) from the field to outscore the Firebirds 52–26 and secure a 78–55 home win.

CSI enters Saturday's contest at 6–4 overall and 1–1 in ECC play, while UDC is still seeking its first victory of the season, sitting at 0–7 overall and 0–2 in conference.

The Dolphins continue to be led by Goldstein, who is averaging 20.0 points per game along with 1.4 steals. Four additional Dolphins are scoring in double figures: JJ Chestnut (12.0), Eric Tynes (11.7), Mitchell Wiggan (10.8), and Kone (10.5), who also leads the team on the glass with 8.4 rebounds per game. Tynes remains a major perimeter threat, shooting 40% from three (24–60).

The Firebirds feature three players averaging double figures, with their leading scorer posting 12.8 points per game. A freshman currently leads UDC on the boards with 6.1 rebounds per outing.
