STATEN ISLAND, NY - The College of Staten Island men's basketball team hosted two non-conference matchups last week, finishing with a perfect 2–0 record and remaining undefeated at the Tank. The Dolphins earned wins over Wilmington (Del.) and Holy Family by scores of 93–88 and 104–95, respectively.
Junior Aaron Goldstein led the way for CSI and was named East Coast Conference (ECC) Player of the Week for the second time this season. Goldstein averaged a team-high 28.0 points per game while adding 5.5 assists and shooting an efficient 58 percent (14-of-24) from the field. In Saturday's victory over Holy Family, he caught fire from beyond the arc, knocking down eight three-pointers, the second-most in a single game in program history, on his way to a game-high 33 points.
Also recognized by the ECC on Monday, sophomore Joey Poulin earned honorable mention honors. Poulin averaged 11.0 points per game on the week and anchored the Dolphins' defense with three blocks against Wilmington. He followed that performance by shooting 4-of-5 (80 percent) from three-point range to score a season-high 14 points versus Holy Family.
