STATEN ISLAND, NY – Effective December 31, 2025, College of Staten Island men's soccer head coach Donato Curci will step down from his position to pursue a new professional opportunity as First Assistant Coach with the New York Cosmos of USL League One.
Curci joined the Dolphins coaching staff in 2023 as Associate Head Coach before being elevated to Head Coach ahead of the 2024 season. Over his two seasons leading the program, Curci guided the team to three East Coast Conference (ECC) honors, including two Second Team selections and one Third Team selection.
"It has been a profound honor to lead the CSI Men's Soccer Program," Curci praised. "It was an amazing journey on and off the field as I had the opportunity to work alongside great people [colleagues] and coach amazing student-athletes."
Curci has been part of the Dolphins' men's soccer program since 2023.
USL League One is recognized as one of the most successful professional soccer organizations in the world, and the New York Cosmos carries a storied tradition with eight league titles and a history of signing some of the greatest players in the sport.
"I am deeply grateful to the [CSI] athletic department, my dedicated staff, and especially my players, for their unwavering commitment and the lasting memories we built together as Dolphins," Curci said. "I wish you the best and I will miss you all."
