STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island women's basketball team continues East Coast Conference (ECC) play on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Sparkill, NY, to face St. Thomas Aquinas College at 4:00 PM.

Both teams dropped their conference openers, CSI fell to Mercy, 71–52, while STAC lost to District of Columbia in overtime, 72–62. Despite the setbacks, CSI enters the matchup with a stronger overall record at 2–5 compared to the Spartans' 1–6.

In their most recent meetings, the Dolphins earned a regular-season sweep, including a 76–57 win on the Spartans' home court on February 15, 2025. That sweep snapped a six-game losing streak to STAC and gave CSI a two-game advantage in the series. In the February win, Dana Phelan tied for the team lead with 20 points, shooting 6–11 (56%) from three, while Kyra Rose added 10 points and four steals.

CSI continues to be led by Shonyae Edmonds, who is averaging 12.6 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Rose is coming off a career-best 24-point performance against Mercy and now ranks third on the team with an 11.7 scoring average. STAC is paced by its lone double-digit scorer, who is averaging 10.3 points, 8.4 rebounds, and shooting 34% from beyond the arc.
