GAMEDAY: BASEBALL OPENS FOUR-GAME CONFERENCE SERIES ON THE ROAD AGAINST STAC

Sparkill, NY - The College of Staten Island Baseball Team opens a four-game East Coast Conference series on the road against St. Thomas Aquinas College this afternoon at 3:30 PM. The Dolphins come in with a record of 12-23 on the season and 6-6 in conference play, currently third in the ECC standings. The Spartans are 9-23 on the year and 4-8 in conference play, currently sixth in the ECC standings. With the Dolphins already assured of winning a potential tiebreaker against Queens College, a series win against the Spartans would move the Dolphins within striking distance of a playoff spot. On the other side, the Spartans are in desperate need of conference victories, and likely need at least two wins in the series to keep their season alive. STAC leads the all-time series against the Dolphins 12-6-1 and has won 12 of 14 meetings with the Dolphins since CSI moved to NCAA Division II. Most recently, the Spartans took three of four from the Dolphins last season.
