GAMEDAY: BASEBALL CELEBRATES SENIOR DAY FOLLOWING HISTORY-MAKING DOUBLEHEADER ON FRIDAY

5/3/2025 6:00:00 AM

Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Baseball Team is coming off a historic doubleheader on Friday afternoon and will host Senior Day as part of their final games of the regular season against D'Youville University.  The Dolphins clinched their first-ever Division II playoff berth with a 15-9 win in game one against the Saints during yesterday's doubleheader.  In a game two loss, Chris Polemeni tied the program's single-season home runs record with his 14th of the season.  A home run for the sophomore today would earn him the all-time record for home runs in a season and place an exclamation point on one of the best individual season in program history.  In addition to Polemeni's pursuit of history, the Dolphins will also be honoring nine seniors ahead of today's game.  Michael Santoriello, Francesco Bonvini, Gerard Santos, Jaden Waterman, AJ Vigliotti, Anthony Sutera, Michael Kehoe, Ryan Kehoe, and Daniel James will all be recognized one day earlier than anticipated as inclement weather forced a schedule change for today's games.  The Dolphins enter the day 17-25 on the season and 10-8 in conference play.  The Saints are 13-32 overall and 8-10 in conference play, but they remain alive in their push for a playoff spot.  The Saints were eliminated from playoff contention yesterday as they can no longer pass Queens or CSI in the conference standings.

Gametime - 10:00 AM
Location - Staten Island, NY (CSI Baseball Complex)
All-Time Series - CSI leads, 11-9
Last Meeting - 5/2/25: CSI won, 15-9 & DYU won, 15-2
