GAMEDAY: BASEBALL MAKES ECC POSTSEASON DEBUT IN BUFFALO AGAINST MERCY

Niagara Falls, NY - The College of Staten Island Baseball Team will make their ECC postseason debut this afternoon as they face the Mercy University Mavericks in the opening game of the 2025 East Coast Conference Baseball Championship. The Dolphins enter the ECC Tournament with an 18-26 overall record and finished the season 11-9 in conference play. The Mavericks finished the regular season 28-22 with a 10-10 conference record. The two teams split their four regular season meetings with each team winning once at home and once on the road. 54 runs were scored between the two teams across two games at the CSI Baseball Complex before the Mavericks won a low-scoring affair 3-2 in the third meeting. The season series ended with a Dolphins win in Dobbs Ferry as they defeated the Mavericks 9-4 in the final matchup. Both the Dolphins and Mavericks enter the ECC Tournament looking for their first-ever appearance in the Conference Championship Final. The winner of today's game will advance to play in the winner's game on Friday when they will compete for a spot in Saturday's Championship final. The loser will need to win back-to-back games on Friday in order to earn a berth in the finals on Saturday.

The Dolphins are enter the ECC Tournament coming off their best season in the Division II history of the program across nearly every metric. They also won three of the four major ECC end-of-season awards as Crhis Polemeni was named Player of the Year, Michael Mauro was named Coach of the Year, and Jack Kehoe was named Rookie of the Year. Poelemeni and Kehoe accounted for two of the four CSI All-Conference selections as AJ Vigliotti and Ryan Kehoe were both recognized as part of the All-Conference First Team.
