RYAN KEHOE EARNS FIRST PROFESSIONAL WIN IN DEBUT FOR STATEN ISLAND FERRYHAWKS

It was an incredible weekend for former CSI Baseball pitcher and Staten Island native Ryan Kehoe. First, the four-year Dolphin signed his first professional contract with the Staten Island FerryHawks. He becomes the second Dolphin to join CSI Baseball Head Coach and FerryHawks assistant Michael Mauro with the club after John Esposito signed his first professional contract with the team in 2023. Just hours after joining the team, Kehoe made his professional debut in a relief outing against the first-place York Revolution. Entering the game with the score tied 1-1, Kehoe held the Revolution without a run surrendering just two hits and two walks in 3.2 innings. The FerryHawks offense would hand Kehoe the lead, and the Staten Island bullpen would go on to close the door on a 4-1 victory.

Kehoe joins the FerryHawks on the heels of a career that placed him among the best pitchers of the Division II era at the College of Staten Island. In 2023, he ranked among the NCAA leaders in strikeouts and tied a CSI single-season DII record with six wins. He also came just one inning shy of matching a CSI DII record with 67 innings-pitched that season and held opponents to a .251 batting average against. He would go on to add his first ECC All-Conference selection that season before adding one more this year as a member of the All-Conference First Team. He graduates the program as the DII leader in both strikeouts and innings-pitched. He is second for CSI at the DII level in wins, second all-time with 94 strikeouts in a single season, second all-time with 233.1 innings-pitched, and third all-time with 255 strikeouts in his Dolphins career.
