Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

DOLPHINS DROP AFTER A TWO-GOAL FIRST HALF TO REDHAWKS

STATEN ISLAND, NY -The College of Staten Island men's soccer team hosted Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon in their East Coast Conference (ECC) opener at Dolphins Soccer Park. The Redhawks struck twice in the first half to take a 2-0 lead and held on for a 2-1 victory, handing the Dolphins their first conference loss of the season.

Despite being held scoreless in the first half, the Dolphins registered five shots, coming from Koray Arslan, Alonso Villegas (2), William Lopez, and Luis Ascencio Cueva. 

The Dolphins broke through in the 75th minute when Williams capitalized on a deflected free kick for the team's lone goal; his second straight two-point game. Arslan created one final chance for the Dolphins in the closing minute, but his shot sailed high, sealing the 2-1 ECC defeat.

Men's Soccer (1-3-1/0-1 ECC) will return to Dolphin Soccer Park next Wednesday, Sept. 24, for a non-conference matchup with Dominican (NY) at 3:30 PM.
