STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island men's and women's indoor track and field teams returned to Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex to compete at the NYC Gotham Cup. The Dolphins delivered another strong performance, highlighted by record-breaking efforts from KJ Ede and Dominik Hric.

Ede and Hric continued CSI's streak of setting at least two program records per meet during the 2025–26 indoor season. Fresh off a personal best in the 400m at last week's Spartan Invitational, Ede entered the meet atop the East Coast Conference standings. He followed that performance by breaking the CSI indoor program record in the 400m dash, finishing in 49.63 seconds, a mark that also stands as the fastest time in the ECC and second overall on the day.

Hric once again reset the bar in the Weight Throw, breaking his own program record for the third time this season. On his final attempt, he recorded a personal best throw of 13.11 meters.

Overall, the Dolphins posted nine additional personal best performances at Ocean Breeze. On the women's side, Mia Bowden made her first appearance of the new year in the 200m and clocked a personal best of 27.38 seconds, while Alexis Doyle also recorded a PR in the event at 29.03. Adonijah Washington and Kayla Larsen represented CSI in the 400m dash, both setting personal bests. Washington led the pair with a time of 1:00.57, followed by Larsen at 1:04.70.

In the distance events, Mahawa Kouyate recorded an indoor personal best in the 800m with a time of 2:42.34, and Anna Carafiol posted a PR in the 1000m, finishing in 3:35.20.

On the men's side, Jude Adinnu recorded a personal best in the 500m with a time of 1:15.16, while Walter Gavilanes followed with a PR in the mile, finishing in 5:01.02.

The College of Staten Island indoor track and field teams will return to action at the Dr. Sander Invitational on January 24.
