STATEN ISLAND, NY - The College of Staten Island men's basketball team enjoyed a successful week in East Coast Conference (ECC) play, earning back-to-back victories. The Dolphins defeated St. Thomas Aquinas for the first time in Division II history before securing an overtime win against Mercy a few days later.

Junior guard Aaron Goldstein led the offensive surge for CSI and reached a major milestone against the Spartans, becoming just the fourth Division II Dolphin to score 1,000 career points. Goldstein's standout performances earned him East Coast Conference Player of the Week honors for the third time this season.

Goldstein averaged a team-high 32.5 points per game on the week, highlighted by a 36-point outing against St. Thomas Aquinas. He shot an efficient 59 percent from the field and 53 percent from three-point range. On Wednesday, he connected on seven three-pointers, shooting 70 percent from beyond the arc, and on Saturday he led the Dolphins in overtime by scoring nine of the team's 15 points to seal the victory.

Also recognized by the ECC on Monday on the women's side, Kyra Rose earned an Honorable Mention after leading the Dolphins the previous week with averages of 16.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.

The College of Staten Island men's basketball team returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 24, traveling to Rochester, N.Y. to face Roberts Wesleyan at 4:00 PM.
