STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island men's soccer team will return to Dolphins Soccer Park Wednesday afternoon for its final East Coast Conference (ECC) matchup against St. Thomas Aquinas College at 2:00 PM. The Dolphins will close out their regular-season schedule with two consecutive home games, beginning with Wednesday's contest against the Spartans.
2025 Meeting Recap:
The Dolphins traveled to Sparkill, NY, last season to face STAC, falling 1-0. The Spartans controlled the offensive pressure throughout the first half, recording 14 shots while limiting CSI to just three attempts. Despite the disparity in opportunities, the Dolphins kept the Spartans off the scoreboard, with Luca Schelling making five saves in the opening 45 minutes.
In the second half, the Dolphins did not record a shot until the 64th minute. Shortly afterward, the Spartans found the back of the net for the game's lone goal and secured the 1-0 victory. Schelling finished the afternoon with nine saves, while Peterson Larose, Brian Puleo, and Koray Arslan recorded one shot apiece.
2026 Dolphins Statistics Overview:

CSI has featured a balanced attack this season, with nine different players recording at least one goal and 12 players contributing at least one assist. In goal, Carlos Romero Astacio has been a consistent presence, recording 43 saves, a career high.
2026 Spartans Statistics Overview:

Their leading scorer has recorded 12 points through 13 games, including six goals. STAC has also received contributions from eight additional goal scorers and 10 players with at least one assist.
Overall Meeting Review:
The Dolphins will look to get back on track against the Spartans, having last defeated STAC during the 2022 season. In that meeting, CSI earned a 2-0 shutout victory before the teams played to a draw two seasons later. The Dolphins have yet to secure another win in the series over their last three meetings and will look to change that on Wednesday afternoon.
