STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island men's and women's cross country teams opened their 2026 campaigns at the Back to the Bowl Invitational in Holmdel, NJ, last Saturday morning.
In the women's 5K, Adriana Roa continued her strong performance from her rookie season, finishing first overall with a time of 20:18.1 earning her the ECC Women's Runner of the Week nod. The mark ranks fourth all-time in the CSI women's cross country record book for the 5K. With the performance, Roa now owns the program's top four 5K times. Roa also helped lead the Dolphins to a third-place team finish, as CSI recorded a team score of 76 to open the 2026 season on a high note.
The College of Staten Island Men's and Women's Cross Country team will return to action on Saturday Sept. 26 when they travel to Bethpage, NY to compete in the Golden Eagles Invitational. Last season, the women's cross country team finished second at the meet, the highest finish in Division II history for the program.
