STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island men's soccer team returns to action Wednesday afternoon after a week-long hiatus, welcoming Goldey-Beacom College to Dolphins Soccer Park for a 2:30 PM matchup. The Dolphins are seeking their first-ever victory over the Lightning after the two teams played to a 1-1 draw in their 2025 meeting.

2025 Meeting Recap:
The Dolphins and Lightning met during the 2025 season, with the first half featuring a scoreless frame. The Dolphins were held without a shot during the opening 45 minutes, while the Lightning recorded nine. The roles reversed in the second half, however, as the Dolphins outshot Goldey-Beacom 7-3. The offensive pressure paid off in the 61st minute when the Dolphins opened the scoring on an assist from Alonso Villegas to take a 1-0 lead. Later in the second half, the Lightning found the equalizer to force a 1-1 draw.

Carlos Romero Astacio made five saves in goal for the Dolphins, while Villegas led the offensive attack with three shots, all of which were on goal, along with his assist.
