STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island men's soccer team had a historic week, taking down nationally ranked Queens College for the program's first-ever Division II win over a nationally ranked opponent and its first victory over the Knights since 1985. The Dolphins closed out the week with a 1-1 mark in East Coast Conference (ECC) play, while Dylan Meadows led the way by earning ECC Rookie of the Week honors.

Meadows, a first-year forward for the Dolphins, played a key role in the historic victory over the Knights. The Brooklyn, NY, native scored both goals for CSI as the Dolphins secured the shutout victory and improved their position in the ECC standings. Meadows currently ranks second on the team with six points on the season, including three goals, and is also among the ECC's top 10 in points.

Also recognized by the conference, Carlos Romero Astacio earned an Honorable Mention after helping the Dolphins secure the shutout against Queens. The goalkeeper recorded eight saves during the week, including a strong performance in the historic victory.

The College of Staten Island men's soccer team is currently tied for third place in the ECC standings with D'Youville University. The Dolphins will return to Dolphins Soccer Park on Saturday to host Daemen University (NY) at 2:30 PM as part of their Alumni Day celebrations.
