College of Staten Island Athletics

Danila Novikov has been named the College of Staten Island's Male Athlete of the Month for January 2011. The rookie swimmer has helped the Dolphins to a 4-0 month including two conference wins.

Novikov started the month with a win against York where he conquered his best time in the 400 Freestyle in 4:32.93. On January 11, in the Dolphins win against Drew, the freshman totaled three first place wins. Against conference rival Lehman College, Novikov swam his best with a 22.54 time in the 50 Freestyle and a 49.64 time in the 100 Freestyle. 

For January, Novikov has taken first place in every event he swam capturing nine gold victories.
