On paper the Dolphins may have gotten the better of No. 4 New York University on Saturday, but it was the host squad that used a pair of late goals to score a 2-0 win over the Dolphins in the ECAC Metro NY/NJ Semifinals at Gaelic Park in Riverdale, New York.  Withe the loss, the Dolphins finalized their season at 11-11-1, while the Violets moved to 12-7-1 and will play tomorrow evening in the final.

Despite the final score the scoring column remained empty until the 86th minute, when with 3:08 remaining in regulation Kyle Green was able to score an empty-netter into the CSI goal.  Green was originally stone-walled by CSI keeper Ahmed El-Ghareib on his breakaway, but after making the save, Green was able to tally home the rebound.  With CSI going all-out to register an equalizing goal, NYU added an insurance marker with just 15 seconds left in the game, when Billy Cordova scored a personal long run down the left field side, putting one into the far post.

CSI had their opportunities.  A 30-yard blast in teh opening minutes by Brandon Cadmen may have been the Dophins' best chance to score.  Cadmen's shot just did graze off of the fingertips of NYU keeper Forrest Sexton, who then saw the ball thunder off the crossbar.  Daniel Tsygankov then had an opportunity to bang in the rebound, but his shot fell wide.  

CSI ended up with a 16-9 shot advantage (6-4 on goal), and held a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.
