CSI WOMEN SNAP SKID WITH WIN OVER YORK

Olivia Tierno dropped 20 points in the big win over the Cardinals.
Box Score The College of Staten Island women's basketball squad snapped their three-game losing skid, defeating York College, 68-60, as part of CUNYAC play on Monday night in Queens, New York.  CSI improved to 8-11 overall, lifting their conference mark to 5-4.  York fell to 3-18, 2-7, respectively.

It looked like Staten Island was going to cruise to an easy victory after holding an 50-32 lead with 9:50 to play.  However, a 12-0 run by York, fueled by five points from Shadae Rice, helped cut the lead to just six points (50-44) with 4:52 to play.

The Dolphins bent but didn't break.  After letting the lead drop to just two possessions, the Dolphins responded with a three-pointer to go back up by nine points.   York kept fighting and closed to within six points three more times but CSI was able to hit free throws in the final minutes and keep York from moving ahead.

CSI was led by Olivia Tierno who netted a team-high 20 points and Nikki Fabozzi who registered 14 points.
Rice had a big game on senior night for the Cardinals, as she scored a game-high 26 points.

The Dolphins return to action on Wednesday evening, travelling to Brooklyn, New York, to take on Medgar Evers College at 6pm.
