The College of Staten Island women's tennis team ran their overall record to 3-0, and took their CUNYAC opener this afternoon, rolling over City College of New York, 9-0, in a match played at York College.
CSI took an early 2-0 edge before the match even began, as CCNY was forced to concede third doubles and sixth singles flights due to an insufficient roster. Â When play did allow, it was all CSI from start to finish. Â the duo of
Sabrina Bragerton-Nasert and Mediha Mulla took an 8-2 winner in the top flight, while the Dolphins duo of
Ilona Stoyko and
Jean Baak dismantled CCNY's Diana Yusim and Maigon Nobbs, 8-0.
When play turned to singles, Stoyko, Bragerton-Nasert, Baak, Mulla, and freshman
Michelle Kushnir all tallied straight set wins.
CSI will return to action for a tough non-conference test on Tuesday evening at 7pm, when they travel to face St. Joseph's College of Patchogue.
