The College of Staten Island women's tennis team won for the second consecutive time this spring, scoring a decisive, 8-1, decision over Yeshiva University at the CSI Tennis Center today as part of non-conference play.  CSI ran their overall record up to 13-4, while the Maccabees fell to 8-7.

CSI took a comfortable, 3-0, edge after doubles.  In the top spot, Nozima Toshpulatova and Aziza Jurabaeva took out Jannah Eichenbaum and Tzipora Leiser, 8-6.  One flight lower, the duo of Sabrina Bragerton-Nasert and Madiha Mulla looked totally in-control with their 8-1 win.  In the third spot, CSI welcomed back CSI senior Sophia Varriano back onto the squad after over a year's hiatus, and she teamed with Michelle Kushnir to score an 8-3 win in that flight.

When play turned to singles, five out of six Dolphins won their matches in straight sets.  Brageton-Nasert won her No. 2 flight, 6-0, 6-0, and two notched lower, Mulla passed YU's Galila Shapiro, 6-1, 6-1.  Toshpulatova ant No. 1 and Kushnir at No. 6 also won, and in her first singles match of the year, Varriano turned back YU's Jenny Tepler, 6-4, 6-1.

CSI is technically done with their spring season leading up the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament beginning May 8, but the team does plan to schedule another contest in place of two earlier April matches canceled due to rain.
