GAMEDAY: MEN'S BASKETBALL HOSTS ECC FOE DAEMEN COLLEGE TO OPEN CONFERENCE PLAY

11/23/2021 8:00:00 AM

Staten Island, NY – The College of Staten Island Men's Basketball team (0-3) will open up the conference portion of their schedule tonight when they take on the Wildcats of Daemen College (1-3) in the first-ever meeting between the two programs. The Dolphins come into tonight's game following three lopsided non-conference results to open their season while the Wildcats are looking to bounce back from a loss at Mercyhurst last Thursday.  For fans looking to attend tonight's game or any intercollegiate athletic events at the College of Staten Island, please refer to our recently updated Winter Spectator Policy for all information regarding the documentation necessary for admission into The Tank.

LAST TIME OUT

In their last game, the Dolphins suffered another tough loss at the hands of American International College to drop them to 0-3 on the season. CSI was never able to recover from a sluggish start, and no Dolphin scored in double-figures. Following a very poor first half, CSI was only outscored by eleven during the second half of what ultimately became a 34-point defeat.

DOLPHINS TO WATCH

The standout performance on Wednesday belonged to Messiah Mallory who came within one point of a double-double. Mallory, one of three Dolphins to score nine points, grabbed thirteen rebounds in the losing effort. Chris Velasquez also scored nine points on Wednesday and has shot 40% from downtown while averaging ten points per game through CSI's first three contests.
