Staten Island, NY – The College of Staten Island Men's and Women's Basketball teams return to the court to host an East Coast Conference (ECC) double-header at the Tank this Saturday afternoon. The Dolphins welcome in the Purple Nights Men's and Women's Basketball teams of the University of Bridgeport (UB). The women's teams will play first at 1:00 PM, in-addition to the game, CSI Women's Basketball will host their Alumni game starting at 10:30 AM. The men will follow for a 3:00 PM game time. This will be the first meeting ever between both squads. Currently, the Dolphin's men's team come in at 3-7 overall (2-2 ECC) while the Purple Night's men's team enter with a 5-8 overall record (3-2 ECC). CSI's women's team enters this one with a 2-8 overall record (0-3 ECC) while UB's women's team enters with a 3-9 overall record (0-5 ECC).
LAST TIME OUT
Both Dolphin squads missed their last game due to health and safety protocols. The men have not played since the 96-62 conference win at home on December 19. The women's last game was a loss at Pace University on December 31. For the Purple Nights, both of their squads played this past Wednesday; the men's team picked up a four-point win, while the women dropped one by four points. Both were against fellow ECC member, the University of the District of Columbia.
DOLPHINS TO WATCH
For the men,
Messiah Mallory has been a consistent player all season long, he recorded his second double-doble of the season scoring 15 points and grabbing 15 rebounds, in their most recent played game.
Bryce Waterman looks to continue his scoring prowess, having scored in double digits in each of his last six games played.
Austin Mick tied his season high in three-point field goals made with seven, in the win against D'Youville, good for his second 20+ point game of the season.
On the women's side, Ashely Lambert has solidified herself on the offense end scoring in double-digits in four of her last five games played.
Elizabeth Lofaro and
Noemia Massingue look to get back on track on both ends of the floor. While
Jenalyse Alarcon continues to impress on the boards and in the paint.
