The College of Staten Island softball team will look to build off of their momentum they gained from yesterday's sweep and carry it over to today's CUNYAC doubleheader against Lehman College at the CSI Softball Complex.

Players to Watch (CSI): Jamie Holmes brought out her bat yesterday, finishing the doubleheader 3-for-6 with two RBI and two runs in the sweep while also collecting 9 putouts. Gabriele DeLeon continues to produce when inserted into the game. DeLeon drove in the winning run in the first game and will look to continue to make the most of her opportunities. Both Nicolette Trapani and Alison Meagher looked comfortable in the circle, combining for 17 strikeouts.  They will once again put their talents on display this afternoon against the Lightning from Lehman College. 
Players to Watch (LC): Caitlin Vernon will look to lead the Lightning as she has done all season with her .319 batting average and team-leading 10 RBI. Vernon is a perfect 8-for-8 on stolen bases this season and will look for opportunities to keep that streak alive. Samantha Torres paces the Lightning with five doubles and sits third on the team with a .293 batting average. In the circle, Tiffany Adames boasts the teams best ERA of 6.18, however, it is Yaidee Nieves that has struck out the most opponents with 30. 
News & Notes: The Dolphins have won 30 straight against the Lightning, a streak that dates back to the 2004 season. The last time the Lightning defeated the Dolphins was during the 2003 season where they won, 8-5, 9-7.  In the last five meetings, the Lightning have been held to less than a run while the Dolphins average 12 runs per game. At the CSI Softball Complex, Staten Island is a perfect 31-0 against the Lightning.
