News & Notes: Today is the first meeting between the two schools in both of their histories.  Mercy opened their season with a pair of losses to Georgian Court University but then reeled off five-straight, including doubleheader sweeps of ECC-rivals, Molloy College (4-3, 6-3) and D'Youville College (8-0, 4-3).  CSI suffered four losses to those same teams, gaining their wins against Queens College, who Mercy has yet to play.  Mercy had their win-streak canceled in their doubleheader split recently against Felician College.  Mercy is batting .343 as a team this year, and 21 of their 70 total bases have gone for extra-base hits.  Mercy has yielded its fair share of walks (31 total), but their pitchers have also accumulated 47 strikeouts through 48.2 innings.  CSI as a team is batting just .236 and have 12 extra base hits in their 38 total.  They are a perfect 4-4 in stolen base attempts, while Mercy has been much more active there, stealing 22 of 28 attempts.
