News & Notes: The two teams opened their series history just two weekends ago in Staten Island.  CSI took the opener in walk-off fashion, 3-2, that day, using a pair of errors in teh final inning to scratch out the win.  Meanwhile in game two, Mercy got even with a 6-3 winner.  Mercy is the ECC leader in hitting with a team batting average of .333.  Their six runs scored per game is also an ECC high.  Mercy also leads the ECC in triples with seven, and they have 40 stolen bases in 16 games, easily the most per game in the ECC.  CSI is winning with defense first as they have held their opponents to four runs or less in three of their four wins.  The outlier came in Saturday's wild, 10-9 win in extra innings over Queens.  In the ECC, four teams make the playoffs, and Mercy is currently in third place with a 9-3 record, although they've played four more games than second-place St. Thomas Aquinas (7-1).  Bridgeport standing in first place at 11-1, while Molloy is at 4-6 and in fourth.  Although CSI is ineligible for the postseason this year, they are in fifth place with a 4-8 mark, and can jump over Molloy in the standings with wins today.  Molloy is idle until Sunday when they play STAC.
