Players to Watch (CSI):  Emily Koerick steadies CSI at the plate and in the circle this season, as the sophomore is batting a healthy .432, tied for the team lead with 19 hits, adding five RBI. She is also 3-5 in the circle with a 2.66 ERA, leading the team with 66 strikeouts and 55.1 innings tossed. Samantha MacPherson has also been hot, batting .405, tied for the team lead in hits with a team-best eight doubles and 12 runs scored.  Elizabeth Moore leads the team with eight RBI, half of those coming on her first career home run, a grand slam against Mercy College on Tuesday.  Claudia Porcaro is next in line with seven RBI and is second on the team with six bases on balls.
Players to Watch (STAC):  The Spartans attack from the plate and in the circle, and have a collection of players performing exceptionally.  Amanda Castro is the leader at the dish, posting a .431 mark with a team-high 22 hits and 11 walks, lifting her on-base percentage to .540.  Amanda Schweitzer is next in line with a .385 mark, tallying six extra-base hits and 9 RBI.  Melissa Sadler, at .359, is the team leader in both RBI (17) and runs scored (19), sharing that distinction with Carissa Della Vecchia, whose 19 runs come with 11 RBI and a .339 average.  Della Vecchia is also part of a great 1-2 combo in the circle.  In nine starts, she is 8-1 with a 1.70 ERA, with a whopping 94 strikeouts in 57.2 innings, opponents batting just .163 against her.  Paige Toothaker has been just as strong, posting a 7-2 mark with a 1.64 ERA, yielding just a .252 average through 59.2 innings.
News & Notes: Another doubleheader, another first-time opponent for the Dolphins, as today marks the first-ever contests between the two sides.  STAC has won three in a row, but did put up 10-straight wins at one point before falling to D'Youville College in their only conference loss of the year, 6-5, just this past Sunday.  STAC has followed with a win in the second game of that DH, 3-2, and defeated Queens in a pair of contests Tuesday, 2-1, and 6-0.  STAC started as the most active ECC team, going 4-2 from March 8-17, but then were idle until April 10, since playing their ECC schedule.  For the Dolphins, three of their four wins have come against Queens and another to Mercy.  The Dolphins suffered a pair of heartbreakers on Tuesday, losing in extra frames against Mercy in the opening game of their doubleheader before surrendering a 10-run lead in the second game to fall 12-10.  They are looking to get back on track today before traveling to Buffalo to take on D'Youville on Saturday, ending their six-game road swing.
