GAMEDAY: CSI SOFTBALL PLAYS 10 GAMES IN FIVE DAYS AT THE SPRING GAMES

The College of Staten Island Softball Team will open their trip to Florida at The Spring Games early this morning against Bemidji State University, the first of 10 games the team will play during the upcoming week.  Below is all you need to know to follow all of the action live throughout the week plus a brief preview of each of the 10 games the Dolphins will play.  You can visit the Softball schedule page  here for links to live stats for all of this week's games.  Joseph Foreman of CSI Sportsnet will also be at The Spring Games this week and is currently scheduled to host a play-by-play audio-only broadcast for seven of the ten games (INTERNET PERMITTING).  Links to each of those calls can be found below and live video streaming of each game is available for purchase on FloSoftball here.

Game 1:  Staten Island vs Bemidji State University (Monday, 9:15 AM)
The first game the Dolphins will play on their Florida trip sees them face the first of several opponents that they will match up with for the first time.  The Beavers began their time in Florida over the weekend on Saturday and entered The Spring Games 3-6 on the season.

Game 2:  Staten Island vs California University of Pennsylvania (Monday, 1:45 PM)
The Dolphins will face a second first time opponent on Monday when they take on the Vulcans at 1:45 PM.  Like CSI's first opponent on Monday, the Vulcans also began their time in Florida ahead of the Dolphins over the weekend.  Their first game on Sunday afternoon sees the Vulcans face Bemidji State in their season-opener with both teams moving on to face the Dolphins on Monday.

Game 3:  Staten Island vs Wayne State College (Tuesday, 10:00 AM)
The Dolphins will open day two at The Spring Games against an opponent that they faced in Florida last season in Wayne State College.  Last year, the Dolphins fell behind against the Wildcats 5-0 in the opening inning.  However, they responded with four runs in the second before ultimately losing 12-4.  The Wildcats face the Dolphins in their first game in Florida and enter the trip at 1-12 on the season.

Game 4:  Staten Island vs St. Cloud State University (Tuesday, 12:15 PM)
The Dolphins face St. Cloud State in their second game on Tuesday marking the third time in four games that the Dolphins will face a first-time opponent to open their trip.  Like the Dolphins, the Huskies also begin their time in Florida on Monday, and they will enter The Spring Games with a record of 9-4.

Game 5:  Staten Island vs Minnesota Crookston (Wednesday, 10:00 AM)
The Dolphins open day three at The Spring Games against another opponent they faced in Florida last season in the University of Minnesota Crookston.  On their final day in Florida last season, the Dolphins were shut out by the Golden Eagles 8-0 in five innings.  The Golden Eagles play their first game in Florida on Tuesday and enter the trip 2-10 on the season.

Game 6:  Staten Island vs Southwest Minnesota State University (Wednesday, 12:30 PM)
The Dolphins close out day three against another first-time opponent in Southwest Minnesota State University.  The Mustangs also begin their trip on Monday and enter their time in Florida with a 2-4 record.

Game 7:  Staten Island vs West Virginia Wesleyan College (Thursday, 2:15 PM)
The Dolphins face West Virginia Wesleyan College to open their Thursday slate in the first game one afternoon start during their time in Florida.  This will be the first time the Dolphins have faced the Bobcats, and like CSI, the Bobcats began their trip in Florida on Monday.  They entered the week with a record of 0-3

Game 8:  Staten Island vs Lynn University (Thursday, 4:30 PM)
The Dolphins face Lynn University for the second time in as many years to close out their Thursday, and will be looking to avenge a loss suffered on the first day of their Florida trip last season.  The Knights defeated the Dolphins 13-0 last season and will enter this year's trip with a record of 5-16.  Thursday will be the first day at The Spring Games for Lynn and the Dolphins will be their second opponent on the afternoon.

Game 9:  Staten Island vs Clarion University (Friday, 1:45 PM)
The Dolphins begin their final day in Florida against Clarion University, the first of two first-time opponents.  The Golden Eagles begin their time in Florida six days ahead of their matchup with the Dolphins and come into the trip with a record of 1-4.

Game 10:  Staten Island vs Tiffin University (Friday, 4:00 PM)
The Dolphins close their trip with a matchup against Tiffin University late Friday afternoon.  The Dragons begin their time at The Spring Games on day ahead of the Dolphins on Sunday and enter their Florida trip with a record of 7-3.
