GAMEDAY: SOFTBALL FACES STAC TO BEGIN WEEKEND THAT WILL DETERMINE PLAYOFF FATE

Sparkill, NY - With a spot in the East Coast Conference playoffs on the line tomorrow, the College of Staten Island Softball Team will have an opportunity to make their road to the postseason a bit easier as they take on the Spartans of Saint Thomas Aquinas College at 2 PM. The Dolphins come in 14-28 on the season and 6-10 in conference play following a split of their last ECC doubleheader against Molloy. The Spartans enter today's games 26-20 on the year and and are tied with Molloy atop the ECC Softball standings with a 13-3 conference record. The Spartans swept the first meeting of the season against the Dolphins and the lone CSI win over STAC came back in the 2021 season. For the Dolphins, today's doubleheader can only improve their postseason chances if they win both games. With a win in both games today, the Dolphins will only need one win in their doubleheader against Mercy tomorrow to make the playoffs. With a loss in one or both games today, the Dolphins will need to sweep Saturday's doubleheader against Mercy to qualify for the postseason.
