GAMEDAY: SOFTBALL FOLLOWS UP RECORD-SETTING DAY AT THE PLATE WITH CONFERENCE DOUBLEHEADER AT STAC

4/10/2025 10:30:00 AM

Sparkill, NY - The College of Staten Island Softball Team is back in action following a record-setting day at the plate yesterday as they visit St. Thomas Aquinas College for a critical East Coast Conference doubleheader.  The Dolphins enter the day 13-13 overall and 1-5 in conference play coming off an 18-run, 20-hit performance in game two against Lincoln University on Wednesday.  Both of those totals were Division II program records, and the sweep of the Lions saw the Dolphins back in action for the first time in ten days.  The Spartans are 18-15 on the year and 6-2 in conference play following a pair of wins against Queens on Sunday.  STAC leads the all-time series against the Dolphins 15-1 with the lone CSI win against the Spartans coming back in the 2021 season, 5-4.  Sitting at 1-5 against the ECC, the Dolphins face a critical stretch of conference games during the upcoming week.  They are scheduled to face STAC both today and Sunday with a matchup against Mercy University at home on Saturday.  The Dolphins will then hit the road for a meeting with D'Youville on Tuesday before returning home for three straight ECC doubleheaders to end the season.  Currently, the Dolphins are two games out of a playoff spot and do not currently own any tiebreakers.  That can change with a strong effort this weekend as the team looks to make their first appearance in the East Coast Conference playoffs.

First Pitch - 2:00 PM
Location - Sparkill, NY
All-Time Series - STAC leads, 15-1
Last Meeting - 4/26/24 (DH): STAC won, 5-3 & 11-3
