STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island softball team continues non-conference play Sunday afternoon, hosting Felician University at the CSI Softball Complex. This marks the third game this week in which the Dolphins face a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent, following matchups against Jefferson on Tuesday and Dominican on Friday.

2025 Meeting Summary: Dolphins Dropped Two to Golden Falcons

Sunday's matchup marks the third season the two programs have met. Their first meeting came in 2022 in Rutherford, NJ, where the teams split a doubleheader. Felician took Game 1 in a narrow 11-10 decision, while the Dolphins responded with a 9-2 win in Game 2.

In the most recent meeting during the 2025 season, the Dolphins hosted the Golden Falcons but dropped both contests, including a Game 2 loss in five innings.

Team Comparison

The Dolphins enter Sunday with a 4-6 overall record, while the Golden Falcons sit at 7-11. Felician recently concluded a trip to Melbourne, FL, finishing 3-7, with wins over Ursuline College, Saint Anselm College, and Northern State.

Over the past week, the Dolphins have gone 1-3 against CACC opponents, highlighted by a doubleheader sweep of Dominican on Friday.

The Dolphins continue to be led by Aliveah Warner with a .516 average at the plate, which is still the top of the ECC, with eight RBI, seven doubles, and 14 hits. Jianna Lopez is second on the team with 10 hits and five RBI while Madilyn Paul is first with four walks. 

Marena Grenier leads the pitching staff with a 3-3 overall record and 28 strikeouts trhough 34.09 innings pitched. She hold a 5.35 ERA in the circle. 

The Golden Falcons are led offensively by a hitter batting .456, totaling 26 hits, 18 RBI, nine doubles, and three home runs. She is followed by another key contributor hitting .353 with 18 hits, nine RBI, and three triples. In the circle, the Golden Falcons are anchored by a pitcher who holds a 3.16 ERA with 34 strikeouts across 57.2 innings pitched.
