3/27/2026 10:00:00 AM

FLUSHING, NY – The College of Staten Island softball team opens East Coast Conference (ECC) play Friday afternoon on the road against Queens College in a doubleheader in Flushing, NY.

Both teams will look to begin conference play on a strong note, as this marks the first ECC contest of the season for each side.

2025 Meeting Recap / All-Time Series
The Dolphins and Knights met four times in 2025, splitting two doubleheaders, with the Dolphins taking three of the four contests.

Despite the Dolphins' success last season, the Knights hold a 13-9 advantage in the all-time series, which dates back to their first meeting in 1996. The Dolphins endured a six-game losing streak against the Knights spanning the 2022–23 seasons before snapping it with a 2-0 victory on March 30. Since then, the teams have competed evenly, with neither side recording a regular season series sweep following that Knights run.

Team Comparison
Today's contest is both teams opening day in ECC play, however, the Dolphins are leading in the standings with their overall record sitting at 5-9 while the Knights are riding a four game losing streak with a 2-11 record.

The Knights last win was during their Florida trip when they won two straight versus Lake Erie and Edinboro University (Pa.) on March 12.
