STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island softball team returns home on Saturday afternoon to host St. Thomas Aquinas College in an East Coast Conference (ECC) doubleheader, with first pitch scheduled for noon.
2025 Meeting Recap / All-Time Series
The Dolphins snapped a 14-game losing streak against the Spartans during the 2025 season, earning their first win in the series since 2021. That victory came in the opening game of a conference doubleheader, as CSI jumped out to a 2-1 lead in the first inning and held on for a 5-3 win. Despite that result, St. Thomas Aquinas claimed the season series, 3-1.
All-time, the Spartans hold a commanding 18-2 advantage, with the Dolphins' only wins coming in 2021 and 2025.

St. Thomas Aquinas enters the matchup atop the ECC standings with a 6-2 conference record and a league-best 16-12 overall mark, while the Dolphins currently sit in fourth after Friday's defeat at Mercy. For the Spartans, the offense is anchored by a standout hitter batting .418, tallying 38 hits, 27 RBIs, and six home runs. Close behind, their top power threat is hitting .368 with a team-leading seven home runs, along with 32 hits and 28 RBIs. Another key contributor rounds out the top of the lineup with a .394 average, collecting 37 hits and 19 RBIs. In the circle, the Spartans rely on a two-pitcher rotation. Their ace has logged 82.1 innings, recording 53 strikeouts with a 3.91 ERA, while the second pitcher has posted a 5.25 ERA with two strikeouts on the season.
