4/18/2026 9:00:00 AM

STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island softball team returns home Saturday afternoon for an East Coast Conference (ECC) doubleheader against Queens College. The Dolphins will look to even the all-time series with the Knights, who currently hold a 13-11 edge since the teams first met in 1996.

March 2026 Meeting Recap
In their first meeting of the season, CSI swept Queens in a doubleheader, extending its win streak over the Knights to four games. The Dolphins edged out a 3-2 victory in game one before securing a 2-0 shutout in game two.

In the opener, Bridget Motley drove in the first run on a sacrifice fly to give CSI a 1-0 lead, and Madilyn Paul later scored on a wild pitch to make it 2-0 after the first inning. Queens responded to tie the game at 2-2 in the second, but Paul once again made an impact on the basepaths, stealing third and scoring on a throwing error to account for the game-winning run in the 3-2 victory.

Game two remained scoreless until the later innings, when Abbie Morris delivered an RBI in the top of the sixth to break the ice. Jianna Lopez added an insurance run in the seventh, scoring Julia Del Matso, as the Dolphins completed the sweep with a 2-0 win.

Team Comparison
The Dolphins enter the weekend at 5-7 in ECC play, sitting in fourth place after 12 conference games. Queens holds a 2-6 conference record through eight games, placing sixth in the standings. CSI is in pursuit of its first ECC postseason berth and will aim to solidify or improve its positioning with a strong showing in Saturday's doubleheader.
