DOLPHINS CAPTURE REGULAR SEASON TITLE WITH FINAL CONFERENCE WIN OVER JOHN JAY

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Dolphins captured two wins over John Jay College this evening to close out conference play and clinch the top seed. CSI took game one by a score of 8-0 and game two, 10-1. CSI finishes with an 11-1 CUNYAC record while John Jay completed at 2-10.

CSI started game one with three lead off hits with the first run coming from Kristi Dillon who stole home. Stefanie Solari's sac RBI and Samantha Tallarine's RBI single closed the inning to put the score at 3-0.

CSI added their highest amount of runs in the third inning with four runs. Tallarine's two run double started it off before a Christine DeCarlo and Dillon sac-fly RBI put the score to 7-0.
After getting on with a double, Catherin Ebro scored on an error for the walk off win in the Dolphins 8-0 mercy.

Danielle Ponsiglione captured the win, pitching a perfect game with five strikeouts.
It was a Victoria Procopio RBI single that started it for the Dolphins in game two in the second inning. After a lead off walk by Taylor Kaplan in the third, Kristi Dillon brought her home with an RBI single up the middle. Reaching on a single, Brittany Smith crossed home for a 3-1 score after a dropped ball by the centerfielder on Flynn's at bat.

John Jay scored their lone run at the top of the fourth behind Briggette Martinez reached on a double and scored off Leidy Lopera's single to right field.

CSI's big inning was in the fourth inning where they scored seven runs.  Reaching on an error and a bunt respectively, Procopio and Ebro were in position for Kaplan's two run single to left to put the score at 5-1. In a fielder's choice play, Smith got on while Kaplan crossed home plate. Next up, was Flynn's two run single to left field that would score Smith and Dillon, 8-1. Closing out the inning, Solari slammed a two run homer easily over the left field wall for the final 10-1 score in five innings.

Procopio earned the win from the circle with five strikeouts.

The Dolphins totaled 18 hits on the day to John Jay's seven.
