STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island men's soccer team hosted two matches at Dolphins Soccer Park last week. The Dolphins secured their first-ever victory over Goldey-Beacom College (4-1) on Wednesday before opening East Coast Conference (ECC) play against D'Youville on Saturday with a scoreless draw.

Following a 1-0-1 week, senior goalkeeper Carlos Romero Astacio was named the ECC Goalkeeper of the Week, earning the first conference weekly honor of his career as a Dolphin. Romero Astacio started both matches and played all 180 minutes in goal, recording 13 saves while allowing just one goal. Against the Saints, Romero Astacio recorded a shutout, making a week-high eight saves to help keep the score at nil for the draw and improve to 2-3-1 on the season.

The College of Staten Island men's soccer team will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Flushing, NY, to face Queens College in an ECC matchup under the lights at 7:30 PM.
